Italian designer Cristina Celestino has created a range of fabrics for sofas and armchairs for Maison Matisse, inspired by the palette of Henri Matisse's painting Intérieur aux aubergines.
Available in plain green, blue and yellow fabrics, as well as in Belle-épine green and Belle-épine yellow patterns, our textiles can be found on our Colette sofas and armchairs, as well as on our cushions.

Our textile is made on jacquard looms, with natural yarns woven by one of the oldest Venetian manufacturers dating back to the 18th century.
Constructing this textile on a jacquard loom is a true feat of craftsmanship that requires innovation and traditional and ancestral savoir-faire in order to obtain such a complex pattern.
Considered as one of Henri Matisse's most decorative pieces, it has inspired Cristina Celestino to create an entire decorative universe in a collection that reinterprets the all-over style. The textile wallpaper draws inspiration from the floral and fruit arrangements at the center of the painting as well as the leaves on the tablecloth.
